It Is Very Difficult to Know about Yourself

“Please leave me alone as I know what I am doing.” In general, we do not like being advised what to do by others. As a matter of fact, however, it is probably true that knowing yourself is very difficult.
Generally speaking, the majority of us tend to either overestimate or underestimate about ourselves because of the difficult nature of fair self-observation. Overestimation causes “overvalue/self-esteem” and underestimation causes “obsequiousness and loss of self-confidence”.
So, how do we get to know about ourselves? The objective evaluation by others is probably the ultimate way to achieve it.

End of First Semester. Thank You for Your Effort

There were a total of eleven classes in the first semester. Students at Philadelphia Japanese Language School learn at our school utilizing their precious weekends, while attending local school on weekdays, dealing with a number of agendas/homework from the regular school. “I truly appreciate the extreme hard work of our students!!”
In addition, we were able to receive the great support from their parents for students’ drop-off/pickup and being the teacher in charge at home. “I also truly appreciate your effort!!”
Summer vacation our students have been waiting for has come. It is absolutely okay to simply enjoy the vacation. However, more importantly, you should review what you have learned during the first semester in order to make the upcoming second semester great.
How you spend the vacation makes a big difference in your post-vacation school performance and daily life.
I am hoping you really take advantage of the summer vacation time by having a thoughtful plan.

Gathering of Kyoiku (teaching), Kyoiku (raise together), Kyoiku (raise cooperatively)

e modified the contents to more like a peer support program. In this context, the name of the program has been changed to “Gathering of Kyoiku (teaching), Kyoiku (raise together), Kyoiku (raise cooperatively)”.
Objectives
People currently living in the United States actively raising children, who are currently having similar problems related to child-raising, get together and seek the optimal ways of problem-solving through discussion by sharing the information, experience and opinion.

Methods
・ Holding a meeting-like activity.
・ Each individual shares the experience, current situation and thoughts. Others thoroughly listen to presenters.
・ The principle for this activity is “one-way talking” and “one-way listening” during each talk.

What is peer support?
Peer support here does not mean one-way supporting, but bidirectional supporting by peers.
