It is a season to fall in love with books

Japan School Library Association and The Mainichi newspaper conduct a survey every year about school kids reading. If a child reads no book in a month, it is called “No reader”. The results from May 2016 were that 4% of Elementary, 15.4% of Middle School and 57.1% of High School students were “No reader”. From this result, more middle school students than elementary and more high school students than middle school are not reading books.
It is very important to read books. We can lean so many things through books. We can lean widely and around the world. We can be a friend of an author. We can be a friend of different age groups and hundreds years ago people.

A reading week will start from Oct 27. The fall is also called “Fall of reading” and the night is long, quite, not too hot and not too cold so it is a perfect season to read books. To enrich the minds, the fall is a season for “Fall in love with books”! (2017 reading week slogan)

Report Card

Today was the last day of our first semester. We appreciate your help for this school. This report card is to inform you about your child’s study and social skills at the school. Our school and your family work together for the desired growth of your children. As you, parents are worried, your children are more worried about your evaluations. It is important to reflect but it is more important to encourage and help their desires to learn. At home, please take a look at your child’s growth using the report card and believe his/her possibility and praise and encourage them. Please utilize the report card to be able to gain “Power to Live”. The following are points to help your child growth for your reference.

1. First word should be recognizing and praising.
2. Avoid negation and critics and do encourage
3. Parents (Family) evaluate the same pace.

Give an effort goal

The important thing is to let your kids have a hope, what t we need to do, what efforts we need etc. It is important to discuss with your kids about what efforts they should take and planning for it. Let’s plan based on your family and children’s situation.
Give them happiness when they accomplish. This is a key to learn willingly. When they accomplish something, parents should be happy with your kids and praise them. It is important to experience the happiness and having the feeling of accomplishment.

We are sorry that we had to change a place and date for the bazar. Even with the sudden change, we were able to finish the bazar. We were able to collect $5,028.42. Thank you so much for your help.

Reading Award “Yokozuna”

“Congratulations and Great Job of achieving “Yokozuna”!
I am sure that each student that received an award gained the feeling of kindness, bravery and courage. I will send this award with congratulations and praise the effort of reading books.

Thank you so much for donating may books and stationaries. We really appreciate the all the donations for the bazar.
We will close the library for organizing!
Sorry for any inconveniences, we will close the library on 10/7 (Sat). We will be registering new books and organizing inventories. We will accept a return. Please return your books between 9:30 to 10 am. We will not rent any books to parents and students. Since the return time is limited, we recommend that parents will return children’s book. Thank you for your corporation.
