Congratulations! Welcome back!
The school is in a cheerful spirit for welcoming new students. I trust you had a great start of the year full of hope and motivation. The change of classrooms and teachers might make you feel uncomfortable, but the beginning of the year is a great opportunity to welcome change. I hope each of you takes steps at your own pace to meet new people, learn new things, and share new experiences.
Ichizuisshin – earnest–
I learned this word, Ichizuisshin (earnest), from a Japanese TV drama. It was in a scene in which a doctor Okita was having a conversation with his father who is a sushi chef.
When the Dr. Okita came home, the father, just dispatched from a hospital, was sharpening his knife in a restaurant with no customers. The son told him what he was doing was a waste of time. The father, then, replies that a craftsman earnestly prepares regardless who the customers are. It is Ichizuisshin.
This word applies to us parents and teachers. We are earnest for our kids.
We are looking forward to working on making the school more attractive for each student with our Ichizuisshin spirit. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
