SMILE Vol.27 Dec 10, 2016 (H.28)

Reflecting back for steady advancement…

The semester is about to end with two more classes left. I praise the students for attending both their local school and JLSP every Saturday. I also thank the parents for their continual support by driving them to school and aiding them at home. I also wrote last week but reflecting back is very important for our growth and to keep advancing forward. Please take a moment to check your everyday lifestyle and your study patterns. It may be a little step, but we need to keep moving forward.

Elementary School/Keisho Nihongo Class Tracks Info Session Held

On Dec. 3 (Sat) at the Multi-Purpose room, we held a Track Info Session geared towards upcoming families to smoothen the transition and to help strengthen the language support. We covered about the learning style and the parental role in supporting the students, as well as the different curriculum offered by the Elementary school track and the Keisho Nihongo course track. Although the turnout rate seemed to be a bit low, we still had very attentive audiences.

Introducing the New Slogans (With Parents’ Association)

To help our school life to be more fun and enjoyable, we asked students above 3rd grade to submit their slogans and we have picked out three of them to focus on them as a school community. This will happen over three parts with the help from students, parents, and teachers. We will be covering these slogans in the morning meeting and at the end of the day. Your help at home will be greatly appreciated.

◆Best Slogans
・12/3-12/17
“JLSP is a small Japan! So let’s use Japanese!”
(Benioff Louis—High school)

・1/7-1/28

(Toida Haruna—Elementary school)

・2/4-3/11

* The slogans were strictly selected with the names hidden.
