The last time I turned the clock back an hour was 18 years ago when I was in Mexico and it was a very interesting feeling. I actually did not know it ended at 2 o\u2019clock in the morning on the 4th. I was talking to my son\u2019s son (my second grandson) on the phone wishing him a happy birthday at the time. At the end of conversation, we said \u201cwhat time is it..\u201d \u201ctime difference is\u2026\u201d and I looked the digital clock. It was different from my cell phone clock and I said \u201cwhat is going on\u2026!?\u201d. I looked at the clocks around the house, turned the TV on, and compared the TV programs. The more I looked, the more I was confused. \u201cWhat time is it actually!?\u201d Holding my head, I went to bed. It was in the morning I realized the summer time ended. One hour makes a huge difference. I felt that day went very calm. \u201cTime is Money\u201d is one of the sayings that describes time. This means that time is valuable as much as money, so spend time meaningfully. This quote was by the United States founding Father, Benjamin Franklin. In Japan, we have \u201cautumn sun sets as quick as a bucket dropping into a well\u201d, describing how quick autumn sunset is.<\/p>\n<p>Slow sun-rises and quick sun-set, we all have same hours a day. I hope you use the time wisely.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Wonderful Origami Art!<\/h2>\n<p>Azuki Murata (Elementary 5th Grade) wrote an essay on \u201cOrigami Art\u201d which she learned from her grandmother when she was home for summer.<br \/>\nI always learn origami from my mom or grandmother. The Origami piece I submitted for Summer exhibition was taught to me by my grandmother. Her house has a lot of ornamental paper balls (kusudama) and I learn every time I visit her. My grandmother is taking Origami lessons and does very well. The reason I choose this piece was, this is the one you can play with. I would like to make a different piece next year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It is wonderful that she does so well on Origami, which is a part of Japanese culture. I hope you will pass on to your friends.<\/strong><br \/>\nAzuki Murata-san (on the Picture) with her wonderful piece of work. This year\u2019s theme was \u201cJapanese food culture\u201d. That started with \u201cFood Exercise\u201d by Keisyo 1. Followed by introducing Japanese food recipes made with their mothers by Keisho 2. Processed food research by Keisyo 3, and character bento design by Keisyo 4. The students showed their daily learning that day. Afterwards, they started bento making, which everyone was looking for. Students challenged making Onigiri, Octopus shaped sausage, Crab shaped Sausage, and omelets, and Mother\u2019s homemade dishes were added.
